Our story
A family, a loom, and one of each.
The name
Vastra, the cloth. Vi, for Vaishnavi and Vineet.
Vastravi began at home in Hyderabad, with a family that has always loved handloom. The name joins the Sanskrit word for cloth with the first sound of the two children's names.
How we choose
Straight from the weavers.
We buy directly from handloom weavers in Pochampally, Gadwal, Narayanpet and further across India. We pick each saree by hand, a few at a time, and never ask for one to be woven again.
That is why every drop is small, and why each saree is the only one.
What you see
The actual saree, every time.
Each saree has a styled photo to show how it drapes. Next to it is the real piece, photographed the day it arrived, with no retouching. What you see is what comes to your door.
Delivered by the family.
In Hyderabad we bring it to you ourselves. Across Telangana it travels by courier, packed by us.
